Why is the silk dress on my feet so slippery?

A new study published in the journal Nature Communications shows that silk underwear is becoming a popular choice for women in South Korea.
A team led by professor of mechanical engineering and materials science Chung Jae-Hwan and assistant professor of textile sciences Yoo Jeong-Sik tested the performance of three different materials, including silk, for two different types of shoes, silk socks, and silk underwear.
The team tested a single-layer of a single material, a polyester material, and two different materials: a fiberglass and a synthetic material.
They found that both the fiberglass- and synthetic-materials outperformed the single-layered material by almost 2 percent.
The fibers and synthetic materials also outperformed both single- and double-layer materials by almost 10 percent.
The scientists also tested the materials for both a single layer and double layer.
They found that the synthetic material outperformed single- or double-layering materials by 3 percent.
They also found that single- layer and synthetic fabrics outperformed polyester and polyester composite by 10 percent, as well as by about 20 percent and 20 percent, respectively.
The researchers believe that the advantage of a composite material is its ability to stretch and to allow elasticity.
The ability to hold a shape without buckling and to be able to withstand the stresses of bending is a big advantage in a product like the silk underwear, the researchers wrote in their paper.
When you buy a pair of silk underwear for your sister, you want her to be comfortable, they said.
And the more comfortable your sister is, the more she’ll want to wear that pair of underwear, they added.
